Dawei is a Tian-Dan (from Xa Hoi) with severe features, and a horrible temper. He is the high priest and healer of the crime ring, despite his tendency to harm others, and his strengths were seen as an asset for the crime ring’s coming incursion. He works directly for Kelimra Rudavani, whom he views as an equal, despite her differing religious views, but has no other affiliation with the leadership in Nagajor.
Gua Dawei keeps an incredibly clean appearance, even in filthy conditions, and can be found habitually cleaning his garments, even while in storage. He has many scars all over his face, neck, and arms, mostly from combat early in life. He wears his long, black hair up in a ponytail or pinned or tied in a top-knot, and enjoys fashion of foreign cultures, as well as the clothing of the aristocracy of his own lands. He often snickers or laughs at the misfortune of others, and laughs heartily when he strikes a critical hit, sometimes interrupting his words during yelling or cursing. He habitually makes checklists of all manner of activity and resources, and is in charge of organizing food and other consumables for the crime ring armies. He does not consume alcohol or intoxicating drugs, believing they will destroy his inner purity.
Gua Dawei grew up in a wealthy middle-upper class family in Xa Hoi, and joined the military at a very young age. He always wanted to be a magi, but his destiny seemed to lead him away from this fate. Before joining the crime ring’s mission, this Tian-Dan man killed his fellow officer in the heat of battle, before going on a killing spree, murdering over twenty Xa Hoi mercenaries and soldiers before being caught and sentenced to death. While on trial, a fellow prisoner taught him of the ways and philosophy of destruction of Lady Nanbyo – secretly, this person was not a prisoner at all, but a planted agent by the crime ring’s early organizers. In his fervent anger against the world, this was the calling that seemed to pull him, and the combination of magic use and physical combat of the priesthood was alluring. The crime ring carried out a planned attack on the prison, allowing Gua Dawei and his newfound ally to escape, and even though his friend was killed during the escape, the crime ring made quick work of recruiting Dawei and taking him out of the region.
After the crime ring takes the region of the Temple of Amaditi-teratsu and the town of Rimija, he wishes to destroy the temple or completely convert it into a temple to Lady Nanbyo. One day, he would like to take a pilgrimage to the high clergy of Lady Nanbyo, and convince them to ordain this temple in her honor.
He knows the secret command words for many magic items, including some only known in historical documents, such as those of the ancient Serpent Empires, which are most likely found in large chambers underground. He has some orc blood in his family, although it is a deep and dark secret he shares with no one. For another evil-aligned believer in Lady Nanbyo, or for a cleric (or other divine caster who is combat-focused), he will compose a prayer in your honor, although very few people fit his very high and unfair standards.
