This composite alchemical item trap is meant to cause chaos, discord, and destruction, and is often used in tandem with a trigger device (see below). When placed in any location, and attuned to the trigger device (or activated by a spark spell or similar fire or electricity effect), this device activates, releasing the effects of its component alchemical items, namely alchemist’s fire, smokesticks, and thunderstones. If placed in any location near the structural weakness points of any building or object made of wood, cloth, or other flammable materials (Knowledge [engineering] DC 15 to identify these weak points), damage dealt by fire can grant the broken condition to the structure, or bring it down with sufficient damage (this item deals double damage to unattended, nonmagical objects.

Alchemical Bomb Trigger Device

The trigger device, which emulates a spark spell effect used to catalyze the alchemical processes, can trigger each explosive bomb trap individually, or all of them at once, and works with a simple command word/thought, and by pressing one of five symbols or “buttons” (the device can be attuned to up to four trap devices at once – these five symbols represent the four traps, and one for the entire group). If the devices are not triggered within one hour after being set and activated, they are triggered automatically, as if by a static timer. Any spell or effect which uses fire or electricity energy can be used to trigger the device if a trigger item is not available. A trigger device can also be used to activate individual alchemical traps to be triggered by proximity, instead of its normal trigger options, to be used as a stationary trap; for example, they can be placed alongside underground tunnel paths in small crevices, where its burst effects will extend out to the range of its burst radius, to help protect secret criminal bases of operations.

This simple, hand-held device has several symbols like buttons, meant to signify each attuned alchemical bomb trap device, for up to four separate trap devices. It mimics a spark spell, meant to catalyze the alchemical components within the trap device, triggering and exploding the bombs, as above. This device can be attuned to a device with a full round action which provokes attacks of opportunity, and can be used to trigger one device (or all of them) as a standard action which does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
